CorePlan Expands Global Footprint with Entry into Americas and Africa

Mining SaaS Leader Appoints Regional Heads to Spearhead Growth in Key Markets

Perth, October 2024 – CorePlan, a leading Australian Mining SaaS technology company, today announced its strategic expansion into the Americas and Africa.  This strategic move comes on the heels of impressive global growth and a surge in demand for its collaborative platform that connects mining companies and drilling contractors worldwide.

With an already strong presence among leading mining and drilling companies in both regions, including Mitchell International, Drill Masters, Sandfire, AngloGold Ashanti, Kobold Metals, South32, Trust Drilling to name a few, CorePlan is poised to deliver even greater value to its customers.

To spearhead growth in these key markets, CorePlan has appointed two seasoned industry veterans: Christian Maudet as Regional Lead for the Americas and Chipego Kasimbo as Regional Lead for Africa. By establishing regional hubs, CorePlan aims to further support mining companies and drilling contractors in these markets with localised services and expertise.

Christian brings over 14 years of experience in the drilling, and mining software industries to his new role as Regional Lead for the Americas. A qualified industrial engineer, Christian served as the Regional Manager for Energold for 12 years, where he oversaw large-scale drilling operations across the continent. Most recently, he contributed to mining software growth at Micromine, helping clients adopt advanced production solutions.

Chipego is a qualified drilling engineer with extensive expertise in drilling techniques, processes, and systems. Chipego has held key positions in both drilling companies and major mining firms such as Barrick and Rio Tinto, where he served as Drilling Superintendent. His deep understanding of the African mining landscape positions him uniquely to drive CorePlan’s growth and digital drilling operations practices in the region.

“Bringing Christian and Chipego on board is a testament to our commitment to these markets. Their leadership, coupled with their deep regional expertise, will be instrumental in driving adoption of CorePlan’s integrated drilling management platform and transforming how drilling programs are managed.”  said Alex Goulios, Founder and CEO of CorePlan.

CorePlan’s expansion will involve the establishment of regional offices and the hiring of local talent to better serve customers in their respective time zones and regional contexts. The company is committed to adapting its platform to meet the specific needs of mining operations in the Americas and Africa, ensuring compliance with regional regulations and industry standards.

“Our goal is to bridge gaps in drilling operations that have been long underserved in the mining sector from SaaS technologies,” added Sachee Perera, COO of CorePlan. “With this expansion, we also deepen our commitment to the communities and economies we serve. We are excited to free geology and drilling professionals from the cycle of low value tasks and assist them in developing expertise in a digital future.
